The latest trends in Wi-SUN as global adoption accelerates Wi-SUN FAN, Route IoT, and Enhanced HAN in the spotlight

In 2012, Began developing the Wi-SUN FAN (Field Area Network) specification, an international standard that will enable the use of Wi-SUN FANs not only in the home but also for various indoor and outdoor applications. In January 2019, the Wi-SUN FAN 1.0 certification program was launched, and products were released by various companies at the same time.

The Wi-SUN FAN 1.1 specification, which is a highly enhanced version of Wi-SUN FAN 1.0 while maintaining backward compatibility, is in the final stages of formulation and development by member companies. SUN IoT route, which is the most promising candidate for joint meter reading of electricity, gas, and water meters. In this seminar, the Wi-SUN Alliance Ecosystem companies will explain the related products and services.

Wi-SUN Alliance was established in Japan in 2011 and is now a global organization with over 300 members in 46 countries. Since its inception, Wi-SUN Alliance members have been working to establish international standard specifications based on the international standard IEEE 802.15.4 as a wireless communication standard for smart cities and utilities, including Wi-SUN B Route, Wi-SUN FAN, Enhanced HAN, Route IoT, JUTA, etc., and have built an ecosystem of international standards. The Wi-SUN B Route, Wi-SUN FAN, Enhanced HAN, Route IoT, JUTA, and other members have taken the lead in developing specifications for international standards and building ecosystems that have been adopted in worldwide.
