We will introduce our research and development efforts, which use image analysis AI running on an edge AI device to perform real-time, fine-grained analysis of garbage collection amount.
We will introduce a research and development initiative that uses image analysis AI running on an edge AI device to perform real-time, detailed analysis of where and how much garbage was collected from dashcam images of garbage collection vehicles driving around the city. This initiative is being carried out as a demonstration experiment in multiple municipalities in the Shonan region.

Regional DX initiatives making maximum use of edge AI technology
The rapid evolution of "generative / AI technologies," including generative AI, is greatly expanding the possibilities for solving various social issues and making cities smarter. Keio University and Reitaku University are using these "generative / AI technologies" not only on GPU servers, but also on edge AI technology to provide a flexible architecture to solve various social issues and make cities smarter. This time, we will introduce the following examples.
- Real-time detection of garbage output using edge AI devices installed on garbage collection vehicles
- Initiatives aimed at searching for city incidents using cross-modal AI
- Initiatives of the "Regional IoT and Information Force Research Consortium" in collaboration with Shonan local governments
