WJWTP Appointment Online Meeting

Expanding the possibilities of next-generation connectivity with Wi‑Fi HaLow™ — get an early look at the latest devices.

At the Furuno Systems booth in the AHPC area, we will present reference exhibits of Wi‑Fi HaLow™–enabled smartphones, USB-type Wi‑Fi HaLow™ devices for PCs and smartphones, and access points supporting the 850 MHz band planned for standardization in spring 2026. With 850 MHz support, Wi‑Fi HaLow™ enables long-range, high-speed communication and provides practical insights for IoT adoption.

850 MHz‑band access point

Tube-AHM is an outdoor Wi‑Fi HaLow™ access point that supports the 850 MHz frequency band.
It features IP66‑rated waterproof protection and a wide operating temperature range of ‑20 °C to 60 °C, enabling stable communication even in rain, dust, extreme heat, or cold environments.
Designed for long‑range wireless communication, Tube-AHM allows wide‑area connectivity for IP cameras and various sensors. With extended support for the 850 MHz band, it is expected to serve as a reliable communication infrastructure for applications such as infrastructure monitoring and smart city deployments.

Wi-Fi HaLow™ USB Dongle

We will present a reference exhibit of a USB dongle that enables existing PCs, tablets, and smartphones to communicate via Wi‑Fi HaLow™ simply by connecting it via USB. Featuring a driverless, plug-and-play design, the device can be used without any configuration or setup. This compact solution makes long-range, low-power communication easily accessible and supports the real-world deployment of IoT using existing terminals.

Wi‑Fi HaLow™‑Enabled Rugged Smartphone “DuraForce EX2”

DuraForce EX2 is a highly durable smartphone for enterprise use, and the first smartphone to support Wi‑Fi HaLow™.* It enables seamless connectivity even in environments without existing communication infrastructure. In addition to data communication within a Wi‑Fi HaLow™ network,*² the device comes standard with a communication application that supports functions such as device‑to‑device chat.*²
The combination of Wi‑Fi HaLow™ and DuraForce EX2 strongly accelerates on‑site DX across a wide range of industries and significantly expands business possibilities.

* As of March 2026, according to Kyocera research
*² Data traffic is limited to within a 10% duty cycle in accordance with the Wi‑Fi HaLow™ standard

【IoT】Wi-Fi HaLow™ for Video Transmission — Usability Check in an Outdoor Field Test
Wi‑Fi HaLow™ is often said to support communication distances of up to 1 km, but in real-world use, how far can video captured by a camera actually be transmitted, and what level of image quality can be achieved?
To answer these questions, we conducted a field test using a Wi‑Fi HaLow (802.11ah)–compatible access point ACERA by Fullno Systems and an ASKEY IP camera. The experiment was carried out in an outdoor environment with no obstructions, along the Arakawa riverbed, to evaluate real-world performance.
How usable is Wi‑Fi HaLow video transmission in practical applications?
In this video, we introduce and demonstrate the results of our testing, focusing on the key points that matter for real deployment.
