[IoT Connectivity Management in the SGP.32 Era] Remote eSIM Profile Operations and Automation with eIM

As IoT devices increasingly require long-term operation and multi-carrier support, physically swapping SIM cards or performing individual kitting drives up operational costs and introduces inventory risk.
In 2023, the GSMA established "SGP.32," an eSIM specification for IoT devices that standardizes remote eSIM management and opens the door to a new operational model — one that enables centralized control of eSIM profiles across IoT deployments. At the same time, successful adoption of SGP.32 demands a clear understanding and proper design of multiple components: SM-DP+, eIM, eUICC, and IPA.
The first half of this session provides a comprehensive overview of the SGP.32 and eSIM ecosystem architecture, including a practical breakdown of the responsibilities shared between SM-DP+ and eIM, as well as the implementation differences between IPAd and IPAe. The second half focuses on high-impact real-world use cases: dynamic profile kitting based on shipping destination, and multi-carrier line switching driven by location data — both presented alongside results from testing on actual devices.
This session is designed to give device manufacturers and carriers actionable insight into managing device connectivity remotely. After the session, a live demo of profile switching will be available at our booth.
