O-RAN Era 5G IC Solutions with SoC + SDR Architecture:High Performance, Low Power & Cost, Compact Design
Headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Metanoia Communications Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in 5G communication ICs for O-RAN applications, leveraging software-defined radio (SDR) architecture and highly integrated SoC design. In this seminar, we will present our product portfolio and technology strategy for the Open RAN and O-RU markets.
Our key products include the MT3812 (Yucca, TSMC 28nm) RF IC and the MT2812 (Sea Eagle, TSMC 16nm) 2T2R baseband IC, both of which are in mass production. Our latest product, MT2824 (Cobra, TSMC 12nm), is a next-generation SoC integrating a 4T4R processor, SerDes, and dual 10G Ethernet interfaces, scheduled for mass production in Q4 2025.
The reference design based on MT2824 (Cobra) achieves a compact 18 cm × 18 cm PCB with 8 layers and no blind vias. It has also successfully passed interoperability testing with multiple DU and CU vendors, demonstrating high IOP readiness.
