Communication Innovation Toward the 6G Era: Watt-Bit Integration, Release 19, and TSN-Enabled Local 5G with Low-Latency Semiconductors

As generative AI and collaborative robots are implemented in society, communication infrastructure must simultaneously meet the demands for real-time responsiveness and ultra-high reliability. This presentation introduces the development of a TSN-enabled local 5G system, aligned with URLLC and TSN requirements as enhanced in 3GPP Release 19, and a custom low-latency communication semiconductor chip scheduled for commercial launch in 2025. It also explains efforts to achieve infrastructure efficiency and ultra-low latency communication through Watt-Bit integration—coordinated deployment of communication and power infrastructure. Technical challenges such as millisecond-level latency control and time synchronization will be discussed along with verification results using AGVs and industrial robots.

Looking ahead to the 6G era, more advanced real-time coordination will be required. This session will also touch on the roadmap for ongoing semiconductor development and explore the evolution of communication technologies as the foundation for next-generation smart infrastructure.

High-performance terminals and cutting-edge technology open up the future of local 5G

Since the launch of local 5G services, we have conducted a series of experiments based on various customer requests. In this presentation, we will introduce the technical details that have emerged as the most recent issues, along with the latest local 5G technologies and their applications.
First, we will explain the local 5G wireless technology and the improvement of connectivity through the introduction of high-power terminals. The use of high-power-UE (HPUE) terminals will enable stable communication even in areas with poor radio reception, greatly improving the area quality of local 5G.
Next, we will introduce the new possibilities that the convergence of local 5G and 3D holograms will bring to the entertainment industry. The ultra-high speed and low latency characteristics of this technology will enable immersive entertainment experiences by transmitting and receiving high-definition 3D holograms in real time.
Finally, we will present our local 5G solutions.
Through the integration of these technologies, we will contribute to improving industrial efficiency and creating new entertainment experiences.
